At 16:30 Kalina Wagenstein and Stefan Prokhorov (ACT Association for Free Theatre) will present the workshop “Professional Artist – Yes or No?”. They will talk about a very important topic for the cultural sector. According to the recently adopted amendments to the Law on Protection and Development of Culture, a register of freelance artists is to be established. Essentially, this is a first step towards the formulation of a professional artist status, as is the practice in most European countries. However, how should we define professional artists and cultural professionals? As a follow-up to the workshop “Defining a professional artist – measure for measure” held in the framework of the IETM Global Network Plenary in June, the workshop “Professional artist – yes or no?” will propose concrete steps to define the signs of professionalisation in the cultural sphere.
