Varna Dance Theatre's DANCE MARCHROUTS is an annual contemporary dance festival with artistic and educational purpose, held in Varna since 2019. The mission of the festival is to introduce the audience to contemporary dance art forms by showing performances on a large stage, holding workshops, lectures and film screenings.
“Dance Routes” aims to create a sense of belonging in young people and to build a positive image of Varna as a centre of contemporary dance art. In order to achieve this, the festival invites a variety of guests, but also purposefully discovers dance artists with successful careers at home and abroad, whose artistic path is somehow connected to Varna. “Dance Routes” brings these artists back to the city so that they can talk about their experiences and pass on their professional skills, as well as showcase their work on stage, in organised masterclasses, lectures and discussions.
Apart from artists from Varna, companies and artists from all over Bulgaria, as well as from Belgium, Germany, Mexico, etc. have visited the Dance Routes Festival.
Through the festival "Dance Routes" Varna Dance Theatre aims to use the potential, professional experience and willingness to share successful Bulgarian and foreign artists to:
