Workshop 'Dangerous Dance' by Diego Agulló

ACT Festival, in partnership with Moving Body and Dance Routes, invites you to discover the stage practice “To Dance the Problem”, based on the study “Dangerous Dances” by choreographer Diego Agullo.

The workshop will take place in the “Junaski Salon” from 21 to 23.10, from 16.00 to 19.30 and will end with a performance on 24.10.

“Dance must be forced to happen, rather than being the result of a voluntary impulse to move. In this exercise, you will not dance to the music you like, you will not dance your favorite choreographies. In this exercise, the dance is not the result of the desire to dance a choreography. You will not dance what you want or like to dance, the dance will be forced to happen. Without being put in danger, that dance will never take place. What are the circumstances around and how do those circumstances make us dance? How can dance channel the negativity and violence around us? The power of dance is to channel negativity and turn it into affirmation.”
says the choreographer about his method.

ACTxVarna is organised in partnership between ACT Free Theatre Festival, Movin Body Festival and Dance Routes Festival. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Culture Fund of Varna Municipality, Goethe-Institut Bulgaria and many other friends and partners.
