Petya Stoykova and Konstantina Handjieva

Petya Stoykova is the founder and choreographer of DUN Dance Company, one of the first independent contemporary dance companies with over 30 years of history.

She graduated in Ballet Direction / Choreography at New Bulgarian University, Sofia. She continues her education by participating in a large number of international dance workshops and co-productions around the world. She is a UNESCO and Dance Web, Vienna scholarship holder. She has won numerous awards for choreography from national dance competitions, as well as the national Margarita Arnaudova Award. He is the winner of the prestigious award “Burg of the Year” 2016 for his contribution to the development and promotion of the city of Burgas. He is the founder of the Association “Dance BG” and the main driver of the Festival of Contemporary Arts “WATER” in Burgas.

Konstantina Handzhieva

Born in Varna, she started in the school of the famous Galina and Stefan Yordanov, after which she was admitted to the State Choreographic School. Immediately after graduation she joined the Arabesque Ballet, where she is still a soloist.

In 2000 she went to Vienna, where she studied contemporary dance techniques, improvisation and stage lighting design as part of the Dance Web specialization, and a few years later she graduated with a Master’s degree in Ballet Pedagogy at the P. In the same year, he also completed a few years of study at the “Ballet Ballet” school in Sofia. She graduated from the University of Vladimiža in Sofia.

During her career Konstantina has worked with world famous Bulgarian and foreign choreographers, including Antonia Docheva, Anna Doneva, Anna Pam Pulova, Petya Stoykova, Boryana Sechanova, Mila Iskrenova, Christian Bakalov, Luke Bui, Liz Lee, Odette Hughes, Roger Jeffrey, Robert Tanyon and others.

Konstantina has choreographed a number of performances, and since 2011 has taught modern dance, classical dance, contemporary dance techniques, composition and improvisation, jazz dance at the National School of Dance.
