Veselina Handjieva and
Nora Vladigerova
Veselina Handjieva was born in Varna, where her journey into the world of dance began. After a few years at the Dobri Hristov National School of Dance, she graduated from the National School of Dance Art in Sofia and immediately joined the company of Arabesque Ballet. A little later she was invited to dance in Schwerin, Germany, where she spent eight years. Subsequently, she participated in a number of other contemporary dance projects in Germany, including those at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Komische Oper Berlin, Hans Otto Theater Potsdam, etc. She has worked with choreographers such as Francesko Nappa, Birgit Scherzer, Jens-Peter Urbich, Oliver Dähler, Sergej Gordienko, D. Efstration, Marc Bogaerts, Young Soon Hue, Lars Scheibner, Paul Julius, Annet Göhre/ Gayetano Sofo, etc. She graduated in Pedagogy with a specialization in Dance at the Postdam University of Applied Sciences.
Nora Vladigerova, born in Berlin, received her education at the Center for Contemporary Dance at the University of Music and Dance in Cologne. In 2010 she received a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation. Since 2011 she has been working as a freelance dancer. She has danced in choreographies by Regina van Berkel, Cocoondance, Georg Reischl, Mouvoir, IPtanz and others. For two years she was a member of the Emanuele Soavi InCompany. In 2014, she received an engagement as a guest dancer at the theatre in Lüneburg. From 2016-2019 she was a guest dancer at Theatre Reutlingen, under the direction of Israeli choreographer Yaron Shamir, with whom she has worked since 2011. She was also part of the dance company La Trottier in Mannheim. She developed her own choreography with students from New Bulgarian University / Sofia to the music of her great-grandfather Pancho Vladigerov. For four years she was a dancer in the company Tanzwerke Vanek Preuß, where she also held the role of choreographic assistant.
